US President Barack Obama has dismissed calls from senior Republican senator John McCain to start bombing Syria, saying that President Assad will leave anyway. He also called for a sober approach to dealing with Tehran's nuclear program. Lawrence Freeman of the Executive Intelligence Review magazine says that Obama is not the one to praise for America's U-turn in its recent militaristic rhetoric.
