Weather Costs U.S. Economy $485 Billion a Year! And That Doesn’t Include Hurricanes

A recent study led by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), found normal weather variation, excluding extreme events and disasters, cost the nation an average of $485 billion a year, 3.4% of the 2008 national economy. The study showed that finance, manufacturing, agriculture, and every other sector of the economy is sensitive to changes in temperature and precipitation. The impacts can be felt in every state.
